A Native of Memphis, Ms. Busler grew up in the Memphis Youth Symphony program. In order to further her musical education, she attended the University of Memphis, where she earned her Bachelor of Music degree.
Ms. Busler is a founding member of the Rosetta Trio, and has produced and performed major recitals as fundraisers for the International Children's Heart Foundation (ICHF), an organization that is committed to saving the lives of children born with heart disease.
Karen Busler, Principal Flute, has been a member of the Memphis Symphony since 1973. She began playing the flute at the age of nine. .
Ms. Busler is married to Dr. William J. Busler. Outside of her work with the orchestra, she enjoys playing chamber music and solo recitals, bicycling, and gardening.
Ms. Busler says that of all of the places she has performed, the most exciting has been in Denali, Alaska with Mt. McKinley as a backdrop.
