Native Memphian Nobuko Igarashi is a former member of the Memphis Youth Symphony and a former student of MSO clarinetist Rena Feller Friedman. Nobuko holds Bachelor and Master of Music Degrees in Clarinet Performance from IU Bloomington, where she studied under Eli Eban, James Campbell, Howard Klug and Alfred Prinz. She has been the bass clarinetist for the Memphis Symphony since 1996.
